End User Agreement for the Use of the German Reference Corpus DeReKo

With the German Reference Corpus DeReKo, IDS provides you with a resource that allows you to conduct independent research and analysis free of charge using various applications such as COSMAS II and KorAP. IDS is able to offer this resource because publishers, journals and other individuals are willing to make copyrighted texts available to IDS for adaptation to linguistic needs and subsequently make them accessible for scientific, non-commercial purposes. The research and analysis results can be exported in different context sizes.
The database is constantly being expanded with new texts, corpora and annotations. Changes and additions to the data, metadata and annotations provided are made continuously and without prior notice. All data, metadata and annotations are entered into the database with great care. Nevertheless, no liability can be accepted for illegal, incorrect or incomplete contents of the database or, in particular, for any damage resulting from the use or non-use of the contents. The exclusion of liability does not cover injuries to life, body and health or gross negligence.
IDS has accepted an obligation vis-à-vis its text providers to ensure that users use the contents of the database only for purely scientific and non-commercial purposes. The prohibition of commercial use of all content includes, in particular, any exploitation and use of this content for subsequent commercial use by the user himself or by third parties. The texts may therefore not be used in any way that goes beyond the right of citation.
In order to prevent misuse of the content provided, registration for the use of DeReKo is required. We therefore ask you to accept to only make the purely scientific and non-commercial uses of DeReKo content, as described above, and to provide the requested information about yourself. The information provided will be treated confidentially and collected, processed and stored in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable German laws, as well as the Telemediengesetz. They are used to ensure user identification.
The collection of telephone numbers enables us to check the correctness of the information on a random basis. We have committed ourselves to such measures vis-à-vis the text licensors in order to prevent unauthorized use.
In order to be able to carry out studies in the field of usage research within the framework of the operation and further development of DeReKo and the applications, user behaviour is analyzed with the help of IDS's own services. In this way, we obtain information on usage statistics (access figures) of DeReKo and the type of use of some applications. We hope that the anonymous evaluation of this data will provide us with insights into the needs and possible problems in the use of DeReKo and its applications and thus enable us to continuously improve the service.
You may revoke this End User Agreement and withdraw your consent to the use and storage of your data at any time by notifying IDS. The research and analysis options in DeReKo will thereby be terminated.
